The Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Limited Edition is dedicated to one of the most renowned crime novelists and creator of the famous consulting detective Sherlock Holmes. Made from brown precious lacquer, the color is a reference to the smoking pipe often used by Holmes – an element that is also reflected in the wooden cap and cone. The cap and barrel of this edition are decorated with a plaid pattern in reference to Holmes' coat, as well as parts of a historic London city map. The clip is inspired by the magnifying glass used by Sherlock Holmes. Behind the clip is the silhouette of a hound made from photoluminescent pigments in reference to the Holmes story The Hound of the Baskervilles. The cap ring features the signature of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as well as the logo of A Study in Scarlet – Holmes' first case. The Montblanc emblem in precious mother-of-pearl crowns the cap of the edition. The handcrafted Au 750 /18 K solid gold nib is engraved with a portrait of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and magnifying glass in reference to Sherlock Holmes.
