This timepiece is a homage to the inventor of the first patented chronograph and was launched in 2011 for the 190th anniversary of the time-writing device. As on the original chronograph of 1821, the chronograph hands do not rotate above the dials; instead, they remain motionless while the seconds-disc and minutes-disc turn underneath them. Montblanc thus gave a new face to the chronograph, combining tradition with innovation. In the Anniversary Edition, another finely skeletonized disc rotates below the hours- and minutes-hands to show the date. The Montblanc Manufacture caliber MB R110 deserves special attention. Assembled from 278 individual parts, it unites all the important features of the history of the chronograph.
