The barrel and cap of Edition 4810 are made of delicately wound Ag 925 sterling silver. The detailed gold-coated mountings are reminiscent of Carolingian elements in the decoration of Aachen Cathedral, where Charlemagne was crowned. The hand-worked, rhodium-coated Au 750 solid gold nib is decorated by an engraving of an early Medieval pattern and the emperor’s monogram.
