In 1764, Joseph II ascended to the throne to become King of the Romans (King in Germany) and a year later he became the emperor of the Roman Empire. With his enlightenment policy – “Josephinism” – Joseph II implemented extensive cultural reforms on account of which the cultural city of Vienna ?flourished anew. Joseph II opened the way for Mozart to become one of the greatest composers in music history – and thus Joseph II entered history not only as the “Reform Emperor“ but also as one of the most important promoters and patrons of Mozart. The writing instruments of the Joseph II Limited Edition re?flect the delicate features of the royal crest ornaments. The design is inspired by the imperial coat of arms of the monarch, which is immortalized as a ?fine engraving on the Au 750 solid champagne-gold nib.
