This High Artistry Collection is inspired by the Taj Mahal and the rich world of Indian design and craftsmanship. The overall design of the fountain pen reflects the shape of the traditional Moghuls' dagger while the peacock feather, set with baguette and individual-cut diamonds, refers to Shah Jahan’s legendary Peacock Throne – a masterpiece of craftsmanship encrusted with some of the world’s most extraordinary gemstones and crowned with a golden peacock. Shah Jahan’s legendary love for his wife, which led him to build the world-famous Taj Mahal, is celebrated with an engraving of a pair of love birds on the handcrafted Au750 solid gold nib decorated with a tsavorite. Because of its once lavish abundance of precious gemstones, India has a great reputation as an ancient treasure trove. Emeralds, which are among the world’s most beautiful and valuable jewels, were referred to in the Moghul court as “Tears of the Moon” because of their mysterious green fire ranging from lunar opacity to clear transparency. The Limited Edition 1 Tears of the Moon displays an exquisite 6.12 ct. step-cut emerald. In addition, rubies, emeralds and diamonds are set in a style reminiscent of traditional Kundan settings. Made from Au 750 solid yellow gold, this exquisite Edition is adorned with a rough-cut diamond at the centre, which can be detached to reveal a miniature enamel painting of a bird beneath.
