The bright blue of the barrel is characteristics of Warhol´s intense use of colour. The clip is a reference to a silk screen printing squeegee. The shape as well as cap and cone symbolize a can. The bar code placed on the cone refers to Andy Warhol's fascination with consumerism as well as to the time period (POP ART movement). One of his famous quotes is engraved on the cap top (in typeface Arial): "Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art". Honouring the legacy left behind by this extraordinary man, the handcrafted 750 gold nib is finely engraved with his portrait.
