Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky, born 16th December 1866, was an influential Russian painter and art theorist. The overall shape of the WI reflects on the one hand side the abstract, geometrical style - especially the cap - but on the other hand his Russian roots. The shape of the cone is a reminder of one of his early Moscow Church paintings and his Russian background. His signature in black lacquer on the cap and the nib engraving including the "K", his famous signature. Limited to 77 pieces in reference to his age when he died.
