In 2021, Montblanc pays tribute to the visionary Enzo Ferrari: both motor racing driver and entrepreneur, he founded the legendary Scuderia Ferrari and established a global automotive empire whose name has become synonymous for superb quality a passion for speed. This Limited Edition 98 pays homage to the racing myth of the Scuderia Ferrari. The writing instrument is lacquered in “Rosso Corsa” – the official racing color used by all Italian drivers and racing teams. The number “29” appears on the cap and refers to the founding date of the Scuderia Ferrari: November 29th, 1929. The cap top is crowned with a Montblanc emblem embedded in a metal grid on a mountain crystal with Enzo Ferrari´s signature in Purple. The back of the cap shows the prancing horse, the famous emblem of Ferrari cars. The clip in metal is adorned with a famous quote by Enzo: “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it.”. A diamond engraving of the Fiorano race circuit is embellished in the forepart. The fittings are made of Au 750 white gold and remain uncoated. The barrel contains a special feature: an Au750 Solid White Gold inlay, coated with ruthenium, which appears like a forged “Ferrari 500 F2” engine and allows a peek inside the writing instrument. When filling the instrument with ink, a Ferrari emblem made from Au750 Solid Yellow Gold appears. Below the inlay lies a sliding rotating wheel made from Au750 Solid White Gold, which reveals five important dates of Ferrari victories. The cone shows two important dates in the life of Enzo Ferrari. The handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib is engraved with the image of “Ferrari 250 GTO” steering wheel and a nickname given to Enzo Ferrari - “Il Drake”.
