This High Artistry Collection is inspired by the Taj Mahal and the rich world of Indian design and craftsmanship. The overall design of the fountain pen reflects the shape of the traditional Moghuls' dagger while the peacock feather, set with baguette and individual-cut diamonds, refers to Shah Jahan’s legendary Peacock Throne – a masterpiece of craftsmanship encrusted with some of the world’s most extraordinary gemstones and crowned with a golden peacock. Shah Jahan’s legendary love for his wife, which led him to build the world-famous Taj Mahal, is celebrated with an engraving of a pair of love birds on the handcrafted Au750 solid gold nib decorated with a ruby. Among the precious objects still remaining from Shah Jahan’s court is a dagger he received from his father at the time of his crowning. This elaborate weapon is a beautiful example of the special Kundan technique of setting stones, which inspired the jewel settings of the Limited Edition 1 Insignia of Power. Made of Au 750 solid yellow gold, this Edition displays high craftsmanship with rubies set in a pattern all over. As an homage to the legendary Indian diamonds such as the Koh-i Noor with origins in the Golconda mines, the centre of the cap top is adorned with a brilliant-cut 6.42 ct. old mine diamond. The peacock feather bears an engraved ruby cabochon at its heart, which can be detached to reveal a miniature enamel painting of a daisy beneath.
