The face of this timepiece is realized in Champlevé – an enameling technique where the surface of the solid gold 750/1000 (18 karats) material of the dial is hollowed by using a graver to form cells and carved lines that will be filled with enamel. Champlevé enamel loses none of its color and radiance over centuries. While this chronograph with its traditional enamel dial is understated and sleek in looks, the mechanical heart that beats inside is a complicated marvel of ingenuity. This inner beauty can be admired through the sapphire crystal back of its 47 mm case under a domed, hinged cuvette with a patented release mechanism actuated by the lugs.
