The skeleton cap in its square shape is reminding of the staircase of the National Palace, in which Diego Rivera produced enormous murals celebrating the history of Mexico. The stylised sun featuring the clip is inspired by one of his artworks. The black lacquered barrel with solid gold intarsia work is reminiscent of original Mexican ornaments. The nib is enriched by his portrait surrounded by origin Mexican ornaments.
