Scipione Borghese (1 September 1577 – 2 October 1633) was an Italian Cardinal, art collector and patron of the arts. A member of the Borghese family, he established the art collection at the Villa Borghese in Rome. The overall design is inspired by the interior design at Villa Borghese. The specific idea is taken from the italian Cabinet of Curiosities and the landmark parasol pines at Villa Borghese. The barrel pays tribute to the italian Cabinet of Curiosities which represents an encyclopedic collections of objects whose categorical boundaries were, in Renaissance Europe, yet to be defined. It was regarded as a microcosm and Borghese´s memory theater of the world. The nib is enriched with a fine engraving of the Borghese family coat of arms. The limitation number is 3, paying tribute to his art legacy - Galleria Borghese, which has in total 3 floors.
