To mark the 20th anniversary of the Montblanc Patron of Art Edition, Montblanc is honouring the founder of artistic patronage with an edition of precious fountain pens whose shape reflects the columns of a Roman temple. In the 4810 edition, the barrel is fashioned from marbled lacquer. The cap, like the rings, is made of Ag 925 sterling silver and is embellished with the first line of an ode to Maecenas written by Horace. Fine engravings of laurel wreaths and the Roman numerals ‘MMXI’ decorate the Au 750 solid gold nib, which is rhodium-coated in the 4810 Edition. A likeness of Maecenas is featured on the representation of an ancient Roman coin in the cone and completes this edition in honour of the founding father of artistic patronage.
