Johannes Kepler (December 27, 1571 – November 15, 1630) was a German mathematician, astronomer, and astrologer. The overall design and shape is inspired by the Keplerian astronomical telescope. The stone-setting is inspired by Kepler´s astronomical observations in his book De Stella Nova about the Supernova 1604. Cap top is paying tribute to another pioneering discovery of him - Kepler´s laws pf planetary motion and Kepler´s Platonic solid model of the Solar system from Mysterium Cosmographicum (1596). The design of the bottom at the cone is inspired by one ot the biggest discovery from him - the orbit of Mars from the book Astronomia nova (1609). The hand-engraving on the Forepart is also inspired by his drawing from Mysterium Cosmographicum (1596). The nib is enriched with a fine engraving of a sun.
